Comfort Zone

We humans tend to find comfort zone. It makes us feel comfortable and secured. We often forget to venture out of this comfort zone. And the cost we pay is, missing out on new experiments, new experiences of life. But the truth is, we can only grow if we are willing to feel awkward and uncomfortable when we try something new. It has been said that, “If you put yourself in a position where you have to stretch outside your comfort zone, then you are forced to expand your consciousness”! How true! We must break out of your current comfort zone and become comfortable with the unfamiliar and the unknown.

Let’s read out this wonderful poem depicting the need of getting out of our comfort zone.

My Comfort Zone

I used to have a comfort zone

Where I knew I wouldn’t fail.

The same four walls and busywork

Were really more like jail.

I longed so much to do the things I’d never done before,

But stayed inside my comfort zone and paced the same old floor.

I said it didn’t matter that I wasn’t doing much.

I said I didn’t care for things like commission checks and such.

I claimed to be so busy with the things inside the zone,

But deep inside I longed for something special of my own.

I couldn’t let my life go by just watching others win.

I held my breath; I stepped outside and let the change begin.

I took a step and with new strength I’d never felt before,

I kissed my comfort zone goodbye and closed and locked the door.

If you’re in a comfort zone,

Afraid to venture out,

Remember that all winners were at one time filled with doubt.

A step or two and words of praise can make your dreams come true.

Reach for your future with a smile;

Success is there for you!

Accomplishment & Obstacles!

We all come across millions of obstacles in our life and we are meant to overcome these obstacles. And the most crucial factor in overcoming those obstacles is our own inner strength. The inner strength to overcome along with the support of others, are intense motivators when attempting to prevail over the obstacles that lie ahead. The objectives we envisage, create, along with our strength of mind to succeed are considerable factors in conquering any challenge. As Dale Carnegie said, “Do the thing you fear to do and keep on doing it… that is the quickest and surest way ever yet discovered to conquer fear.” True words of wisdom! Once fear of obstacles conquered, success is there for taking. Success which could be anything ranging from, money, career, fame, happiness amongst other things.

To laugh often and much;

To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children;

To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends;

To appreciate beauty,

To find the best in others,

To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child,

A garden patch or a redeemed social condition;

To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.

This is to have succeeded

Learnings Of Childhood-2

Continued-

 · Take a nap in the afternoon

·  We must be aware of the word wonder. Let’s remember how we had planted those tiny seeds in the barren land and how in amazement we watched the roots going down and plant going up. Probably we would never figure out why that happens but all of us are like that.

 ·  While going out into this complex world, watch out for traffic, remember to hold hands and stick together.

 · Then also remember the book about Dick and Jane and other fascinating stuffs and the first word we learned, the biggest word of all: LOOK. Everything we need to know is in there somewhere. The golden rule and love and basic sanitation. Even Ecology and politics and sane living. All neatly summed up.

 ·  Think of what a better world it would be if we all had cookies and milk about three o’ clock every afternoon and then laid down with our blankets for a nap.

 · Or if we had a basic policy in our nation and other nations always to put things back where we found them and cleaned up our own messes. That would have been a real pleasure.

 · One fact will always hold true that no matter how old we are, when we go out into the world, it is best to hold hands and stick together. And finally

 · Whether its hamsters or goldfish or rooster or even those tiny seeds in the barren land, they all die. So do we. So lets not forget to get best out of this wonderful life.

Learnings Of Childhood-1

Internet can be called encyclopedia of knowledge. One comes across so many fascinating things which otherwise we would not have found. Few of the things manage in hang in there, in the back of your mind. And they stay that way because of their sheer quality and authenticity. There was this article called “We Learned It All in Kindergarten” by Robert Fulghum.

He mentioned it so correctly that most of the basic things we learn in kindergarten. Things like how to live, what to do and how to be are taught in kindergarten. The point is wisdom does not come out of doing graduation; rather it’s inherent in basics of childhood.

We need to remind ourselves of many of these basic learning at every phase of life. Some of them are:-

·        Save everything.

·        Play fair.

·        Put things back where you found them

·        Don’t hit people.

·        Say you’re sorry when you hurt somebody

·        Clean up your own mess.

·        Don’t take things that aren’t yours.

·        Live a balanced life.

·        Wash your hands before you eat.

·        Learn some and think some, and draw and sing and dance and play and

·        work every day some

Determined Awakening

Success is always an achievable element depending upon our determination. We can always determine what we want. We can decide on our major objectives, targets, aims, and destination. We can not control our surroundings but we can definitely decide how to get the best out of our surroundings. This decision itself will influence our ability to choose our own direction in life and where our paths will lead. Our will to succeed is a powerful force and with it, you can accomplish anything. But foremost, we need to awaken our soul; our inner being and determination will come to us.

Awakening…

Awakening, dawn’s chorus

Welcoming,

The day new, untouched

Waiting to be filled….

And will we paint a rainbow

With all its promise

Or dull the canvas

Sadly seen?

Each day brings its own colors

To be chosen mixed,

Pigments of joy,

Happy moments,

Smiles and laughter….

And which will you choose?

For ‘Life’ is choice,

We are all painters

In our own way,

All needing to create

Something of worth,

Of lasting beauty,

Marking our journey….

Footprints in the sand….

The sky today is azure,

The sun warm and golden

A filigree of light and shadow-play

Through the gently swaying trees.

I clean my brushes,

Choose my palette

Of vibrant, living colors,

And begin to fill

Today’s blank canvas

Musings Of Life-3

Continued…

17). It takes a minute to have a crush on someone, an hour to like someone and a day to love someone, but it takes a lifetime to forget someone.

18). Love comes to those who still hope even though they’ve been disappointed, to those who still believe even though they’ve been betrayed, need to love those who still love, even though they’ve been hurt before.

19). It hurts to love someone, and not to be loved in return but what is most painful is to love someone and never finds the courage to let the person know how you feel.

20). Love is when you take away the feeling, the passion, the romance and find out you still care for that person.

21). Never say goodbye when you still want to try;

Never give up when you still feel you can take it;

Never say you don’t love that person anymore when you can’t let go.

22). Giving someone all your love is never an assurance that they’ll love you back. Don’t expect love in return, just wait for it to grow in their hearts but if it doesn’t, be content it grew in yours.

23). There are things you love to hear but you would never hear it from the person whom you would like to hear it from, but don’t be deaf to hear it from the person who says it with his heart.

24). When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live your life to the fullest so that when you die, you’re smiling and everyone

around you is crying.

9). Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one so that when we finally meet the right person, we should know how to be grateful for that gift

10). A sad thing about life is that when you meet someone who means a lot to you only to find out in the end that it was never bound to be and you just have to let go.

11). Happiness lies for those who cry, those who hurt, those who have searched and those who have tried. For only they can appreciate the importance of people who have touched their lives.

12). it’s true that we don’t know what we’ve got until we lose it, but it’s also true that we don’t know what we’ve been missing until it arrives.

13). Love starts with a smile, develops with a kiss and ends with a tear.

14). The beginning of love is to let those we love be perfectly themselves and not to twist them with our own image, otherwise we love only the reflection of ourselves we find in them.

15). The happiest people don’t necessarily have the best of everything, they just make the most of everything that comes along the way.

16). The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past. You can’t go on well in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches

Musings Of Life-1

Recently came across this wonderful article. It was as simple as it could have been but extremely powerful. Just few learning which we tend to forget in the rush of life. Sometimes, it makes sense to take a pause and reflect on our lives. Call it introspection, reflection or simply going back to our basics! Thought of sharing this beautiful piece of write up. And surely, implementing even few of them will make life an enriching experience.

1). There are moments in life when you really miss someone that you want to pick them up from your dreams and hug them. Hope you dream of that someone.

2). When one door of happiness closes, another opens. But we often took so long at the closed door, that we don’t see the one which has been opened for us.

3). Always put yourself in other’s shoes. If you feel that it hurts you, it probably does hurt the person too.

4). Don’t go for looks, they can deceive. Don’t go for wealth even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile.

5). Dream what you want to dream, go where you want to go, be what you want to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want in life.

6). A careless word may kindle a strife;

A cruel word may wreck a life

A timely word may level stress

A lovely word may heal and bless.

7). The best kind of friend is the one you could sit on a porch, swing with, never saying a word and then walk away feeling like that was the best conversation you’ve had.

8). May you have…Enough happiness to make you sweet

Enough trials to make you strong

Enough sorrow to keep you human

Enough hope to make you happy

And enough money to keep you comfortable.

Success Mantra

A famous proverb says,”The toughest thing about success is that you’ve got to keep on being a success.” How true! One can never afford to sit on past laurels. Achieving success is relatively easier that maintaining it. At the same time, it’s also important to achieve success in the profession one loves. Then only one would be able to enjoy one’s own success. It has been rightly said that, “it is better to be a failure at something you love than to be a success at something you hate.” This statement truly drives home the point.

 After all, the entire motive for becoming a success is to experience joy and self-satisfaction as one move towards his goals. Our own resolution to succeed is more important than any other. And that resolution has an inherent element of totally engaging ourselves towards excellence. One of the most important single ingredients in the formula of success is knowing how to get along with people. Being personable is a key element to accomplish the respect of others. It’s really important for one to be able to get along with as many different types of people as possible. By doing so one will find it much easier to get the support when one is attempting to lead others to the promise land
